A 14-year-old girl with links to Corby and Wellingborough who went missing from her home in Rugby is believed to be in Northamptonshire after a number of sightings were reported to police.
Police in Warwickshire yesterday said they are concerned for the welfare of teenager Heidi James, also known as Beth.
The force has now said the search has been transferred to Northamptonshire Police after a number of sightings of Heidi in the county.
A spokesman added: “Although police still wish to locate Beth, officers are reassured by these reports and wish to thank the media and public for their assistance to date.”
Beth was reported missing at about 10.30am on Wednesday, January 1, but is believed to have left her home in Main Street, Long Lawford, Rugby, at about 4.30am that morning.
Beth is described as white, about 5ft 7in and slim with shoulder-length black hair usually tied in a ponytail.
She was believed to be wearing a black onesie with pink hearts on and a dark purple sweater and brown ugg boots. She was not wearing a coat.
Officers searching for Beth are asking the public to please report any sightings of her or any information on her current whereabouts immediately to Warwickshire Police on 101.
