Thieves broke into a house in Corby, threatened the householders and stole cash and jewellery.

The break-in happened on Saturday, March 21, between 2.50am and 3.10am, in James Watt Avenue.

Three men broke into the house, threatened one of the occupants with a knife and demanded money.

They also stole jewellery, including rings and necklaces, before escaping.

It is believed they entered and left the property through a ground-floor window.

The men are described as slim, about 5ft 9in and dressed in black.

They spoke with an unidentified accent.

One of the men was carrying a black-handled knife and another carried a black torch.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, is asked to call Northamptonshire Police on 101.
