Thief smashes car window to get handbag

A thief smashed a car window before grabbing a handbag left in the footwell.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft which took place in Regent Street, Kettering, just after 3.30pm on Sunday (March 17).

A police spokesman said: “The front passenger window of a blue Peugeot 307 was smashed and a handbag stolen from the footwell.

“Motorists are reminded to always remove valuables when leaving their vehicle unattended.”
