Teen attacked by mob in Wellingborough

A 14-year-old was attacked by a mob of teenagers when he made his way through Wellingborough on Tuesday evening.

The incident happened at about 6.30pm when the victim ws walking through a field between Minerva Way and Queensway in the direction of Weavers School.

A group of between 15 and 20 teenage boys approached him and began throwing snowballs at him.

The boy ran away from the group who chased him, caught up with him and pushed him to the ground.

The boy was punched and kicked in the face and suffered swelling to his face.

One of the attackers attempted to steal the boy’s headphones, however a passing dog walker intervened and the group made off.
