Teachers send out warning to parents in Northampton after suspicious man tries to lure schoolgirl into car

A pupil was approached in Northampton by a man “acting suspiciously”, who asked her to get into his car.

This morning (Tuesday) Woodland View Primary School alerted parents and carers that a girl aged between seven and eleven was approached by a man outside her house in Grange Park.

An email was also sent from Hardingstone Academy to warn other students in the area.

The email from Hardingstone Academy said: “We are making you all aware of the message sent by Woodland View Primary School.”

The message then went on to highlight information, which was sent to parents of Woodland View Primary School, it said: “A man approached one of our key stage 2 girls this morning outside her house in Grange Park, asking her to get in his car. The police have been notified.”

A spokeswoman for Northamptonshire police said: “I can confirm that we are investigating an incident after being called just after 8.35am today to reports of a man acting suspiciously in the Grange Park area.”
