A woman who attacked a victim with a child’s cricket bat in public has avoided a prison sentence.

Karen Flack, 40, of Spinney Street, Raunds, struck the victim on the arm after spotting her in Marshalls Road last November.

She pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court to assault by beating and having a weapon in a public place.

Recorder Timothy Spencer, who gave Flack a three-month prison sentence suspended for two years, said: “I have little confidence that this will be the end of this dispute.”
