Speeding drivers were targeted by police from the Wellingborough Rural Safer Community Team during a traffic enforcement operation in Wollaston and Irchester on Sunday, April 21.

The day was arranged following complaints from local people about speeding and dangerous driving through the villages.

A total of 22 vehicles were stopped and dealt with for offences ranging from speeding to illegal registration plates. Police Constable Pete Littleton from the Wellingborough Rural Safer Community Team, said: “The operation to target people committing traffic offences was a great success and we will be organising similar operations in the coming months.”
