A number of drink-drive operations have continued to take place throughout the county.

Wellingborough safer community team carried out roadside checks on Wednesday (June 20) in Harrowden Road, Wellingborough; Senwick Road, Wellingborough; Gypsy Lane, Irchester, and Thrapston Road, Finedon

In total 18 breath tests were carried out with no-one being over the limit. Eight fixed penalty notices were issued for excess speed.

Officers also carried out roadside checks on Thursday (June 21) in Orlingbury Road, Isham; Senwick Road, Wellingborough, and Doddington Road, Wellingborough.

18 people were breathalysed with no-one being over the drink drive limit. Four fixed penalty notices were issued for speeding.

An operation was also carried out by the Safer Roads Teams on Tuesday (June 19) at Edgar Mobbs Way, Sixfields, Northampton, where 27 vehicles were stopped and on Wednesday (June 20) at A428 Bedford Road, Houghton and A43 layby, Kettering. where a total of 213 cars were stopped. No drivers were found to be over the drink drive limit.

Further operations were conducted with special constables on Thursday (June 21) in Wellingborough. Three people were issued with vehicle defect notifications for faulty lights, nine people were given fixed penalty notices for not wearing seatbelts and four for using mobile phones while driving. No one was found over the drink drive limit.
