Pair jailed for part in failed tyre theft

TWO men from Leeds have been jailed for their part in a failed theft of £15,000 worth of tyres in Corby.

Anthony Gordon, 45, and Jonathon McCormick, 28, were part of a group which took 228 tyres from a parked delivery lorry outside Kwik Fit in Lloyds Road on November 19.

The tyres were then placed in a stolen van and driven away. Police traced the vehicle and arrested the driver Gordon and passenger McCormick. Both have a criminal history of thefts and burglaries. At Northampton Crown Court yesterday Judge Richard Bray jailed Gordon for 22 months and McCormick for 18 months after both pleaded guilty to the charges.
