A car was damaged after being driven through freshly-painted graffiti on a road in Raunds.
Police are appealing for information about the damage caused to the vehicle while it was being driven along Chelveston Road in Raunds early on Sunday morning (April 14).
A police spokesman said: “At around 6.25am, a man was driving along Chelveston Road, away from Raunds, when he drove through some graffiti which had been written onto the road surface with what appears to be mastic sealant.
“The sealant flicked up from the wheels onto the car’s bodywork and caused damage which could not be cleaned off.
“The sealant was still wet so we believe that the graffiti writer would have been on the road just prior to 6.25am.”
The spokesman added: “There may have been a car parked nearby as the graffiti was written in a rural location between Raunds and Chelveston.”
Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information about it, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
