A gang of men wearing Halloween masks threatened to poke a hotel worker’s eye out with a screwdriver during a raid on a hotel near Kettering.
The four men entered the Travelodge on the westbound side of the A14 sometime between 3.40am and 4.10am on and two of them immediately climbed over the hotel counter.
They then dragged the receptionist into a back room, threatened to poke his eye out with a screwdriver and punched him before making him lie on the floor while they searched the office.
While the hotel worker was laid on the floor, the thieves stole a small amount of money from the hotel’s safe before fleeing.
All four of the men spoke with Asian accents and were about 5ft 5in.
As well as the Halloween masks, they all wore long sleeved T-shirts, jeans and gloves.
The robbery took place on Monday, October 13, but the details have only been released by Northamptonshire Police today (Tuesday, November 11).
A spokesman for the force said: “Following detailed investigations, officers working on the case are now asking the public to come forward if they know anything about the incident or saw anything unusual happening around the Travelodge on that night.”
Witnesses, or anyone with any information about this incident, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
