A man was knocked to the ground and beaten up as he stood in Northampton town centre in the middle of the day.

The man was standing outside the BBC Radio Northampton building at the top end of Abington Street at about 4.30pm on Wednesday, September 23, when he was approached by two men who he did not know.

He was pushed to the floor by one of the men then kicked and punched while he lay on the ground.

Following the assault, both of the men ran off to a car which was parked nearby.
