A man woke up at home with head injuries and ‘no recollection of what happened’ after he was the victim of suspected robbery in a Northamptonshire park.

The 24-year-old was walking through the Racecourse in Northampton sometime between 5pm and 6.30pm on Saturday, August 1, when he stopped at a bench close to the football pitches between Kingsley Road and St George’s Avenue.

He began talking to three Polish men before walking away. Shortly after leaving the group, he has no recollection of what happened until he woke up at home and found his mobile phone was missing.

He was left with injuries to his head where he believes he was punched.

Officers investigating the case would like to speak to the group of men the man chatted to.

They were all white and the first was in his 50s, about 5ft 5in with a large build, a greyish beard and a balding head.

One of the other men was about 6ft with short dark hair, stubble and an average build. He was wearing a bright orange top and was carrying a black rucksack.

Witnesses, or anyone who knows anything about this incident, can call Northamptonshire Police on 101.

Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or use the anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
