A thief followed his victim into a Kettering alleyway before threatening him with a knife and stealing cash.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the robbery which took place in the alley between Regent Street and Havelock Street in Kettering between 7pm and 7.30pm on Friday, December 28.

A police spokesman said: “A man was followed into the alleyway and was then threatened with a knife.

“A demand was made for him to hand over his wallet.

“The victim handed over his cash and the offender made off in an unknown direction.”

The offender was white, in his late teens to early twenties, of skinny build, 5ft 7in and wore a grey or light-coloured hoodie and a dark-coloured scarf.

The alley is very narrow, and runs between the Bed Centre and Wellington Street.
