A Kettering man was shot with a pellet which missed his eye by less than an inch.

The incident happened at about 4.30am on Sunday morning when the victim, Craig Turnbull, was at his home in Ridley Street.

He went into the bathroom after hearing pellets strike a bedroom window, but while he was looking out of the window he was suddenly struck on the face with a pellet which missed his eye by about an inch.

The victim’s wife, Sade Turnbull, said: “I have four children all under ten who are now too scared to go in their garden, out of the front door, into bed, and even the toilet.”

A spokesman for Northamptonshire Police said the incident had been reported to them and they were investigating.

He added: “We received a call saying a man had been shot with a pellet of some kind at about 4.30am on Sunday.

“The victim suffered a facial injury but thankfully was not seriously hurt.”
