A man has been jailed for four years for a robbery at a Kettering supermarket.

Christopher Gaffney, 38, of Marion Square in Kettering, appeared at Northampton Crown Court on Wednesday, April 16.

Gaffney was sentenced to 40 months for robbery and a further eight months for breach of a suspended sentence order.

He pleaded guilty to a robbery at the Co-operative food store in Grange Place, Stamford Road, Kettering, on 30 March.

Detective Inspector Ali Reynolds said: “This was a serious offence and we are pleased with the significant sentence given, which we hope will serve as a deterrent to anyone thinking of committing such offences.”
