A 39-year-old man arrested in Corby on suspicion of the murder of nightclub boss David “Les” Ross has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Officers from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit also carried out a number of search warrants at addresses in Corby and Market Harborough, yesterday.

Mr Ross, 39, died as a result of an assault and was found on Monday, December 17, last year in the Village Express Hotel in The Jamb, Corby.

Just weeks before his death he had opened the Rubix nightclub in Corporation Street, Corby.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Kinchin, who is leading the investigation, said: “The searches and the arrest are among a number of active lines of enquiry. We are still particularly interested to speak to anybody who was in contact with Les during 2012.

“We know he confided in different people in his life. He will have told them about aspects of his life, his hopes or concerns. We need those people to come forward and contact us so that we can build a true picture of the life of David Ross.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
