Two men assaulted and robbed a 21-year-old in Kettering after asking him for a cigarette.

The incident happened at about 9pm on Saturday, February 22, in Mill Road.

The victim was walking towards the junction with Gladstone Street when two men called to him.

One of them asked for a cigarette and, as the victim went to offer him one, the man assaulted him.

As the victim ran away towards Victoria Court he fell over. The offenders caught up with him and stole cash and cards.

One of the offenders was in his mid 20s, about 6ft and stocky.

He had short dark hair and was wearing dark trousers and a dark hooded top.

The second offender was in his early 20s, about 5ft 10in and skinny.

He had short mousey brown hair and was wearing a grey tracksuit.
