Man charged with arson with intent to endanger life after incident at Northamptonshire petrol station

Police have charged a man after a petrol station in Northamptonshire had to be evacuated last week.

Valerijs Orlovs has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life, according to Northamptonshire Police.

Officers were called to Westbridge Petrol Station, St James Road, Northampton, on Wednesday evening last week to reports of a man threatening to self harm.

Firefighters also attended and used a water pump on the man which allowed officers to arrest him.

Orlovs will appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on November 19.
