Victims of domestic violence can find out more about specialist support at an event at the Kettering Clock Tower tomorrow (Thursday, November 28).

Police officers and representatives from Serenity – the sexual assault referral centre – will be on hand to offer advice and assistance between 10am and 3pm.

Det Ch Insp Steve Lingley, from Northamptonshire Police, said: “Violence, rape and sexual assault have a massive impact on the victim and it is vital that they know where to find help and support.

“I’d also like to reassure them that we will thoroughly investigate each and every offence and put all our efforts into ensuring justice is done.

“Unfortunately this type of crime affects children too. Protecting and safeguarding children is vital and I urge anybody with concerns to come forward.”

The same event took place in Corby on Tuesday.

Det Ch Insp Lingley added: “A number of people visited the mobile unit to find out more.

“The message we want to get out is that we want people to report these incidents, because then we can investigate and refer people to partner agencies who can offer help and support.”
