A Rushden man has admitted charges of causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving after a collision on the A6 Bedford Road in March.

Daniel Wadforth, 25, of Hayway, Rushden, appeared at Northampton Crown Court.

He was facing charges of causing the death of 23-year-old Rushden man Ashley Circuit, who was a passenger in Wadforth’s Volkswagen Bora when it struck a Peugeot 206 being driven by Victoria Clarke.

Miss Clarke was said in court to have suffered serious and life-changing injuries in the smash.

Wadforth appeared in court and volunteered to surrender himself into custody at last Friday’s hearing.

The case was adjourned so that a report can be prepared for sentencing on Friday, November 8, at Northampton Crown Court.

The adjournment was also called to give an opportunity for Miss Clarke’s injuries to be fully assessed as they may have a bearing on the sentence.

An interim driving ban order was also imposed.
