A man who tried to intervene in an altercation between two others in Kettering suffered serious head injuries when he was struck on the back of the head with a baseball bat.
The incident happened between 9 and 9.30pm on Saturday (October 25) in Cedar Road.
The victim was attempting to intervene in an altercation between two men when he was struck – and he was taken to Kettering Hospital for treatment before being later transferred to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious head injuries.
The offender is described as a white man in his late twenties with untidy shoulder-length hair.
A man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
