A girl has been arrested in Northampton after a teenage boy was taken to hospital with stab injuries to his head.
The incident happened on a housing estate in Duston at about 1pm yesterday, when a paramedic in a fast response car, a double-crewed ambulance and an air ambulance helicopter were deployed to the scene.
The helicopter landed at Millway Primary School playing fields and took a 13-year-old boy to Birmingham Children’s Hospital with stab wounds to his head.
Although medics were initially concerned, the injuries turned out to be non-life threatening.
Police were called by the ambulance service about half- an-hour after they arrived. As a result, a girl the same age as the boy was detained by police.
A spokeswoman for the force said: “A 13-year-old girl was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.”
