Officers investigating the “serious sexual assault” of a 14-year-old girl on a footpath in Northampton have appealed for any potential witnesses to come forward.

The girl was walking along an alleyway between Lings Way and East Butterfield Court in Goldings at about 9.15pm last night (Thursday), when she was attacked.

The attacker was a white man who was stocky, about 5ft 1in and in his 30s.

He had short shaven hair, a round, red face and a large nose.

He was wearing a grey hooded tracksuit top with a zip at the front, dark coloured bottoms and dark trainers. He spoke with an eastern European accent.
