A FAST food delivery man needed hospital treatment after he was threatened with a knife and attacked with a baseball bat.
The 27-year-old victim was taken to Kettering General Hospital with a suspected broken nose and a two-inch cut on his forehead, which needed stitches.
He was attacked by two men in their late teens or early 20s, who stole his mobile phone and the food he was delivering.
The robbery happened in Orkney Walk, Corby, between 8pm and 8.30pm on Thursday.
A police spokesman said: “The victim noticed two young men in an alleyway.
“They followed him and threatened him with a knife, demanding the food.
“A fight ensued which resulted in the victim suffering a cut to the head from a baseball bat. His mobile phone and the food was taken.
“His car was also damaged in the incident.”
The attackers wore tracksuit bottoms, black hooded tops and had their faces covered.
Ian Girvan, of Howard Avenue, Corby, said he was surprised to hear of the attack.
He said: “We do get these kind of things happening in Corby from time to time but fortunately not in this particular area.
“I’m rather dismayed to hear that someone has been attacked in this way.”
Witnesses to the robbery, or anyone with information on the attackers, are asked to call the police on 101.
