Appeal to trace man who came to aid of woman involved in ‘altercation’ in Northampton park

Police are trying to trace a man who asked a woman involved in an “altercation” in a park in Northampton if she was ok.

Northamptonshire Police is appealing for witnesses to an incident in Victoria Park, Northampton, at about 10pm on Thursday, August 11.

A police spokesman said there was an altercation between a man and a woman in the park near one of the paths close to Dallington Brook. A member of the public, described as a black man wearing a black cap, approached them and asked if the woman was okay.

Officers are keen to speak with him, or any other witness to the incident, or anyone with information, by calling Northamptonshire Police on 101. Alternatively, they can call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
