YOUNG crimestoppers were out on the streets delivering posters to raise awareness of burglary and car theft.
On Monday the youngsters from Grange Community School, in Dorothy Road, Kettering, handed out Operation Guardian posters made by pupil Nicole Brakenbury.
The schoolchildren were accompanied by local PSCOs as they delivered the posters round the nearby Grange estate.
Patsy Bosworth of Northamptonshire Police, helps co-ordinate the force’s Young Detectives initiative which was behind the poster scheme.
She said: “We asked the pupils to create the posters on the importance of people not leaving windows open or leaving their cars unlocked.
“There’s been a great response from the school and if the children can pick up tips and remind their parents to keep their windows closed then that’s brilliant.
“We are asking them to be our little detectives and it’s a little bit of fun for them.”
PCSO Kirsty Ellerby chose Nicole’s poster to be circulated.
She said: “Nicole’s poster was well really designed and was to the point.”
