A Raunds couple have presented Kettering Hospital with £3,000 that they, with the help of some friends, have raised over the last two years.
Steve and Julia Moore raised the money by organising charity concerts and via commission from food hamper sales. It was agreed by the friends that supporting the hospital’s breast and urology departments would be the best way to use the money. Mr Moore said: “We wanted to do something that would benefit a lot of local people and we decided to make the donation to prostate cancer and breast cancer care.”
The money has gone towards buying a template biopsy device for the hospital’s urology department and a special kind of surgical headlight, worn by the surgeon, to assist in breast cancer surgery.
The hospital’s Christina Kelly, said: “We want to thank Steve, Julia and all of their friends, very much indeed for this amazing donation.”
