A SPECIAL couple have celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Eric and Jean Darnell married in Jean’s home village of Souldrop on March 15, 1952.
The couple later moved to Eric’s hometown of Rushden and have three children, Kevin, Kenneth and Lynne, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Eric, 80, said: “Jean is brilliant. She is a very special lady to me. We had a lovely anniversary and celebrated by having a few photographs taken and a glass of wine.”
Jean, 79, worked at the Totectors factory in Rushden and Eric worked at several boot and shoe factories and leather factories in the area.
