County to pilot new scheme in schools

Northamptonshire is to pilot a new scheme which could transform how schools impact on students’ mental well-being through PE, sport and physical activity.

A report was discussed by the county council’s cabinet on Tuesday detailing proposals to work in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust on a pioneering approach to delivering PE and sport in secondary schools.

The programme aims to improve the physical, social and emotional well-being of young people aged 11 to 18 across Northamptonshire, with the hope of having a positive impact on achievement and attainment.
