There’s less than two weeks to go until Corby’s annual Cyclefest.
The event takes place on Saturday, June 20.
Among the attractions will be a selection of ‘crazy bikes’.
From a double-height tall bike to arm-cycled tricycles and a mini penny-farthing, you’re bound to want to test your skills on these unique bicycles from Northamptonshire Highways.
Neither age or ability is a barrier to the levels of excitement brought about by mastering a new technique of cycling required by the more unusual bicycles.
There will also be information available about this year’s Sky Ride Local Guided Rides Programme.
Sky Ride Local rides are guided by friendly British Cycling Ride Leaders along scenic planned routes.
With different levels, there’s something for everyone – whether you’re building your confidence or already comfortable on a bike and looking for a challenge.
All Sky Ride Local rides are led by British Cycling trained Ride Leaders – real cycling enthusiasts who know the routes and can encourage and guide you along the way.
And, just like last year, don’t forget to bring your own bike along for a visit of Doctor Bike, who will be on hand to give it a full health check to ensure it is fighting fit for those summer bike rides.
Any minor repairs that are required, such as brake and gear adjustments, mending punctures and inflating tyres, and lubricating the chain will be undertaken, all free of charge.
If any repairs or parts are required that cannot be fixed at the event, Doctor Bike will advise you of these and how to get them fixed.
Corby Council’s Cycle Champion Cllr Paul Beattie said: “With the Women’s Cycle Tour coming through Corby the day before, this year’s Cyclefest is the most exciting one yet!
“Why not carry on the cycle hype by coming along to try out some of the bicycles, absolutely free, and watch some extreme tricks performed by Corby’s most talented cyclists.”
