ONE of the county’s councils beat competition, including the Ministry of Defence, to claim a prestigious IT award.
Kettering Council was named Best IT Delivery Team at the UK Digital Public Sector Awards held at the Guildhall in London on Thursday night.
The award acknowledged the council’s effective use of IT and the innovative approaches used to help improve services and save money.
The council’s deputy leader Cllr Mary Malin said: “It was impressive to see the borough of Kettering represented nationally at such a prestigious event.
“The award acknowledges the hard work of staff who make sure local residents get the most out of the technology we have available at a cost that is affordable.”
The council was also shortlisted in the Best Example of Shared Services in Practice category for its work with Kettering General Hospital.
