A teenager who is set to fly to Australia later this year to fulfil a lifelong dream has thanked those who have helped him towards his fundraising target.

Corey Haseley, who has a life-limiting illness affecting his nerves, muscles and cells, has raised thousands of pounds for the trip to Perth.

The latest fundraising event effort by the Wellingborough teen involved him and two friends, Kieron Gates and Craig Wiseman, having their legs waxed at the Hands-on-Beauty salon in Raunds earlier this month.

Corey has expressed his gratitude to staff there for helping the trio raise £500, to add to the thousands already accrued.

He said: “It will help towards Australia. We are nearly there. It looks like I might be going out in September.”

Corey said the leg wax was quite sore, adding: “It was quite nerve-racking. The pain goes quite quickly but your legs are still sore for about 24 hours.”
