Health bosses have confirmed that Corby Urgent Care Centre will not be closing tomorrow (Friday).
It comes after a row over funding led to Lakeside+ Plus Limited, which runs the busy centre, saying it may have to close if they couldn’t reach an agreement over the prices they are paid for services provided there.
The threat of closure led to concern for patients, staff and all involved with the running of the centre.
However, a statement released on behalf of the three parties involved said: “Corby CCG, Nene CCG and Lakeside+ Plus Limited are pleased to announce that they have come to an agreement under which Lakeside+ Plus Limited will continue to operate the Corby Urgent Care Centre and will continue to provide its existing service to NHS patients until at least 30 September 2017.
“The CCGs propose to engage with patients and the public to discuss their future plans for the provision of services at the UCC and will make decisions about the long term future of the services after a process of public engagement.”
