Corby Amateur Theatrical Society is looking for a boy to play the part of Oliver in its next production.

After the group’s successful Christmas show, Aladdin, members are preparing to stage the well-known musical of the Dickens’ classic Oliver Twist in May.

The society is looking for boys who can sing and act to audition for the roles of Oliver and the Artful Dodger, aged 11 and 12 in the production.

The show will be staged at The Core theatre, Corby, from May 29 until June 1.

Luke Simcoe, communications manager for the society, said: “We are also looking for boys and girls from the age of seven to audition for the parts of workhouse children and Fagin’s gang, as well as adults who would like to join the society and join in the fun of this amazing production.”

The society is holding an information evening at its base in South Folds Road, Corby, on Thursday (January 17), starting at 7pm.

Any children who would like to audition for the production can go along with a parent or a legal guardian.
