Shoppers in Corby can get into the festive spirit at a Christmas market being held in James Ashworth VC Square, outside the Cube.

Twenty marquees will be put up for the market which is to run from 9am to 5pm on Saturday, December 14, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday, December 15.

The marquees will hold 40 trestle tables which the borough council is offering to rent out to interested traders selling gifts, toys, cards, crafts and other goods.

Leader of Corby Council, Cllr Tom Beattie, said: “The space outside of the Cube is the ideal place to hold a Christmas market and we are very excited about being able to offer this opportunity to traders.

“We hope that we can interest a range of different traders which will add to and compliment the great shopping experience already here in Corby.”

Traders will be charged £50 for Saturday and £40 for Sunday, with free parking.

There will be a hog roast and entertainment for shoppers on both days.

Any trader interested in taking part in Corby’s Christmas market is asked to contact the council’s property office on 01536 464653 or email linda.connelly@corby.gov.uk.
