Dozens of happy shoppers were given goody bags after they turned up for the opening of a new plus-size Corby clothing store.

Up to eighty people queued around the block this morning (August 14) to be some of the first to gain entry to the Yours clothing store in Willow Place.

The shop has opened in the unit recently vacated by Jane Norman.

Fifty goody bags were given out to the first shoppers who turned up more than an hour before the store opened.

Willow Place assistant centre manager Darren Pickering said: “There were seventy to eighty people there by the time the shop opened at 10am.

“We arrived into work at 8.50am and there were already people queuing.

“We’ve had a fantastic response from shoppers on social media and it’s certainly the best attended opening we’ve had in Willow Place.

“It’s a comparable shop to Evans which is just across the way so we hope the two complement each other.”

Plus size fashion is one of the year’s high street success stories and is considered to be one of the fastest growing sectors in fashion.

Yours clothing was founded by Peterborough farmer’s son who started selling clothes from a market stall in Huntingdon and there are now 60 stores around England and Wales.

The store stocks clothing from size 14 to size 36.
