The skies across Corby were illuminated with the annual bonfire night event at Corby Boating Lake.

Organised by Corby Council, the event began with a torchlight procession from Corby East Midlands International Pool car park led by a piper to the bonfire, which was lit by representatives of event sponsors Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes.

The evening was brightened with a spectacular display of fireworks and a fantastic atmosphere.

Sponsorship of the event by the homebuilders allowed the free event to take place, with a bucket collection on the night raising money for the air ambulance and Teamwork Trust.

Jackie Day, sales director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “Bonfire night is a great chance for children and adults alike to come together and have fun which is why we were pleased to be able to help make the event at Corby Boating Lake happen for local residents.”

Alison Raine, sales director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “A large part of building a new development is supporting the local community, so we’re pleased to be able to sponsor this year’s fireworks event in Corby to help bring together new and existing residents.”
