Corby Community Safety Team helped keep the holidays happy by running a successful Alcohol Week of Action.
The team, which includes representatives from the borough council and the emergency services, promoted safe drinking in the run-up to Christmas and new year celebrations.
An alcohol awareness display was put up in the Community Cop Shop in Corporation Street and goody bags containing drink diaries and measure glasses were handed out to residents.
More than 300 people were approached in Corby’s pubs and clubs and given advice on the harm alcohol can do and on how to drink sensibly.
Training was also given to two Polish off-licences about the laws governing underage sales and information leaflets were delivered to all off-licences in the town.
Leader Corby Council, Cllr Tom Beattie, said: “We are all extremely pleased at the reaction we received during the latest Alcohol Week of Action.”
