An international singer and recording artist has been so impressed by a town’s spirit she has written a collection of songs about it.
Barb Jungr and musicians and singers from Corby wrote Deep Roots, Tall Trees: A Corby Song Cycle and will perform it at The Core at The Cube on Saturday, November 10, to celebrate the venue’s second birthday.
Deep Roots, Tall Trees: A Corby Song Cycle and the project behind it have been co-ordinated by Corby Community Arts, who have been active in promoting the arts in Corby for more than three decades. Director of Corby Community Arts, Kate Dyer, said, “Barb and our local musicians and singers are telling Corby stories in completely new ways and it is wonderful hearing them develop. The concert is going to be very exciting, a fitting celebration for The Core’s second birthday.”
The performance starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £14, concessions £12 and groups of 10 or more are £8 each. They can be booked by calling the ticket line on 01536 470 470 or by visiting www.thecorecorby.com.
