Part of Corby’s swimming pool complex is to close for three weeks for maintenance work and an upgrade.

The main pool will be closed from Monday, March 17, until Sunday, April 6.

Improvements will be made to the hydraulics to the booms and floors in the main pool and, while it is closed, Wilmot Dixon will refurbish the diving board steps .

In addition, Corby Council is to carry out a deep clean of the areas.

During the work there will be limited access to the learner pool but its opening times, and those of the gym, will be extended. Both areas will be open from 6am every weekday and will stay open until 6pm at weekends. The fun pool will also close from Saturday, March 15, until Friday, March 21.

The gym, sauna, spa, studio classes, café and crèche will open as usual.

Corby Council’s lead member for community, Cllr John McGhee, said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause our customers.

“These few weeks will allow us to improve the operation of the pool for the benefit of all users and also gives us the opportunity to make improvements that customers have suggested they would like to see.

“Corby East Midlands International Pool is an extremely well-used facility and we have ensured the work is undertaken in between school holidays and that disruption to the rest of the facility is minimal. We would like to thank all users of the facility for their patience and look forward to the improvements being completed.”
