Corby’s first Skate Slam to take place this weekend

Corby skaters will be able to show off their skills in the borough’s first Skate Slam this weekend.

The Skate Slam, organised by Corby Council’s Community Safety Partnership, takes place on Saturday (June 10) at Danesholme Skate Park, Motala Close.

Registration will take place from 10am to 11.30am with the event starting at midday and finishing at 4pm.

The event will see live DJ sets, professional demonstrations and competitions for all to join, with food and drink available to purchase.

Anyone using a BMX, in-line skates/blades, a scooter or skateboard can join the competitions and show off their skills at the community facility which includes a half pipe, jump box (1/4 pipe to flat bank), volcano, roll in for jump box and a hubba ledge.

Live DJs will include OP1, Trickster, DJ Shy, DJ Hartley and Chris P so even if you don’t want to take part in the competition but just want to come along and spectate there’ll be lots to enjoy.

This event is open to everyone but those competing have to be more than five years old and those attending under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
