Corby now has 21 charging points for electric vehicles after the scheme was extended.
In addition to the charge points already at Corby Station and the Cube, they have now been installed at a range of venues and businesses including the Holiday Inn, Adrenaline Alley and Corby Town Football Club.
Nick Bolton, Electric Corby project manager said: “Electric and hybrid electric vehicles will play a growing part in the future of transport in the UK. We have now extended the number of public access charge points in Corby and we are also supporting local businesses keen to be part of the growth in cleaner more efficient vehicle technologies by putting the necessary charging infrastructure in place.”
Corby now has one of the highest concentrations of charge points per head of population in the UK, including one of the latest quick chargers which can recharge some electric vehicles in as little as 20 minutes.
