Entrepreneur, musician and fundraiser Bip Wetherell is hosting a charity dinner to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War and raise cash for charity.
The event is being held at his tennis club, The Queen’s Club in London, on Friday, March 21, starting at 7pm.
Military historian and author Sir Max Hastings will be the guest speaker and there will an auction to raise funds for Prostaid,the Northamptonshire-based charity which provides care and support for people with prostate cancer.
Mr Wetherell, owner of the Raven Hotel and hall and a Prostaid committee member, said: “The dinner is to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Great War and to honour the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for us all.
“I have booked Sir Max Hastings as my guest speaker. He is regarded as the world’s number one military historian. Brendan Coyle of Downton Abbey is our patron and, if his film schedule will allow, he will be attending.”
The evening will start with a champagne reception followed by dinner in the club’s Presidents’ Room.
