Sergeant Jon Hodgson said: “Anyone visiting the town is invited to pop in when they are passing.

“We’ll ask them to fill out a quick survey to help us find out what the priorities are for local people and we’ll be giving advice on various topics, including personal safety and home security, which is even more important around the festive period.

“On Monday, December 12, from 1pm to 3pm, we’ll be holding a ‘crafty’ afternoon, giving people the chance to join in to help raise money for the mental health charity Mind.”

Sgt Hodgson added: “This is a great partnership activity, we look forward to welcoming as many visitors as possible, wishing them a Merry Christmas and doing all we can to make sure the new year ahead will be a safe and happy one for all.”
