A man from Corby has been seriously injured in a hit and run incident in Lancashire.
The 44-year-old was discovered lying injured by the side of the A585 Garstang Road in Wyre in the early hours of Sunday, August 19.
He had been struck from behind by a vehicle that failed to stop at about 1am.
He was found by a passing couple, and had sustained injuries to his back.
Police said that he is in a serious but stable condition at Royal Preston Hospital.
His identity has not yet been released by the authorities.
An investigation is under way and police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about the incident to contact them.
Sgt Jon Allwright from the Force Road Policing Unit said: “The vehicle involved in this collision would have sustained damage, in particular to its bumper and front left indicator.
“I would appeal to the driver to come forward so we can establish the circumstances of exactly what has happened.
“I would also ask anybody that thinks they may have witnessed this incident or with any information that could assist with our investigation to come forward.”
