A Corby football club has won £6,000 sponsorship for kit and equipment from a food manufacturing company which will also be providing the ingredients for the traditional match-day snack - the bacon sandwich.

Stewarts & Lloyds has won backing from TMI Foods based at Lodge Farm Industrial Estate, Northampton.

Its site general manager Declan Kennedy said: “We are delighted to be involved with the club. The fact that it caters for all age groups and has a large and growing membership in the Corby area is testament to the commitment and dedication of its management and coaches.”

TMI foods is a fast-growing cooked ingredients company which employs more than 200 people.

The company supplies cooked bacon to all of the major sandwich manufacturers, quick service restaurants, retailers and to the catering industry.

Mr Kennedy said: “We are very proud to be part of this football club and the provide necessary funding and I wish the club the best of luck.

“When supporters attend a game at the Stewarts & Lloyds football grounds, why not buy a bacon sandwich, also supplied by TMI foods.”
