Workers at the Corby-based firm, the Cambridge Manufacturing Company, are celebrating after winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade.

Managing director Eileen Skinner and staff welcomed Lady Juliet Townsend, the Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire to the site in Brakey Road yesterday (Thursday, July 26) when she presented the award to staff at a reception.

Eileen said: ‘‘Cambridge Manufacturing Company is very proud to have won the Queen’s Award which has enhanced an already growing reputation in all the markets in which we operate.

“Every member of staff has contributed to the success of the company and at the presentation everyone received a commemorative medal to mark the occasion of the official presentation of the award by Lady Juliet.”

The company exports its weight plan products to 30 counties and saw overseas growth rocket by 120 per cent between 2008 and 2011.

The plan has helped more than 25m people since its origin in 1984.
