Pupils from the Solas School of Irish Dancing in Corby returned home from the City of Birmingham championships with a haul of 27 medals.

The dancers travelled to the competition where they performed in front of judges for a chance to move up a grade and gain medals.

Dance teacher Ray Chambers said: “The dancers have worked very hard and for some of them it was their first ever competition.

“Nearly all dancers have progressed up to the next grade level.”

The dancers, who train every Thursday night, are taught by Ray Chambers and Lindsay Rees at St John the Baptist Church Hall in Church Walk, Corby.
