A dance teacher has spoken of her delight after her school officially opened its new premises yesterday, Saturday.
Nene Valley Dance, on Stuart Road, Corby, opened its doors for the first time with hip-hop dancer, and star of the BBC TV show So You Think You Can Dance, Lizzie Gough cutting the ribbon.
The school is the first of its kind in the town - being the only dance school that now teaches from its own premises.
Principal of Nene Valley Dance, Karen Robertson, said she was happy that she has finally made her dream come true.
She added: “I am delighted to finally open. If people want to come up and have a look around they can.
“We are holding our first sessions from Monday and offer dance classes to anybody from 18 months old up to adults.”
The school will offer a range of dance classes, with people able to come and try their hand at anything from ballroom dancing, street dancing, ballet and, in a few months’ time, belly dancing.
Mrs Robertson added that before Christmas this year another star of So You Think You Can Dance, Ryan Jenkins, will attend the school and offer pupils a master class.
She is also hoping that the fleet-footed stars from Strictly Come Dancing, Anton Du Beke and Erin Boag, will be strutting their stuff at Nene Valley Dance early next year.
Mrs Robertson added: “We are hoping to offer three to four workshops, to be done by outside professionals.
“It will be great to think we can give people this opportunity.”
